UKRAINIAN-AUSTRIAN PROJECT "DIGITALIZATION OF TEACHING" SUCCESSFULLY STARTED

On December 13th-14th, 2021, Training course on management and STEM-education of research and training staff of SIHE “University of Educational Management” of NAES of Ukraine took place in Odessa within the Ukrainian-Austrian Project "Digitalization of Teaching" aimed at supporting transformation processes in educational institutions during global pandemic. The project was initiated by the Education Dominik Eisenmann, Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Austria in Ukraine, the Commissioner for Education of the Austrian Ministry of Education, Science and Research, and OeAD (Austrian Service for International Cooperation in Education and Research) and supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The project participants are: SIHE “University of Educational Management” of NAES of Ukraine, Odessa Academy of Continuing Education of Odessa Regional Council, Vinnytsia Academy of Continuing Education, Kyiv Regional Institute of Postgraduate Education of Training Stuff, project partner organizations, local experts and experts from Austria Republic.

The aim of the project is to develop demand-oriented formats of continuing education in the format of blended learning and to enable lecturers and professors offer high-quality and didactically correct courses in the format of online or blended learning.

During the opening of the event, Dominik Eisenmann congratulated project participants, a group of 30 lecturers and professors from University of Educational Management and Kyiv Regional Institute of Postgraduate Education of Training Stuff who arrived to Odessa for a 2-day course.

15 Ukrainian of research and training staff of Central Institute of Postgraduate Education and Educational and Scientific Institute of Management and Psychology, headed by our Rector Mykola Kyrychenko, represented SIHE “University of Educational Management” of NAES of Ukraine in the Ukrainian-Austrian Project "Digitalization of Teaching".

The training was conducted by Olga Bershadska and Svitlana Tymchenko, educational trainers. It included team building, information on digitization projects in Austria, practising digital competencies, as well as the first steps towards developing an approach to compiling one’s own strategy for digitization of higher educational institutions. Michael Steiner, a lecturer at the Vienna School of Education, presented the digital education initiative online on the Zoom platform.

The program of the event included discussions on the following issues: initiatives in the field of digital education; European Digital Competence Framework for Educators; digital strategy of Ukraine; standards of digital competence of educators, etc.

Representatives of the University also visited the partner institution - Odessa Academy of Continuing Education of Odessa Regional Council, headed by Rector Lyubov Zadorozhna. There they were introduced to the first-ever Ukrainian "Free Educational Space" Teacher's Hub. The team visited expositions of the Museum of Education of Odesa region, STEM-education laboratory, Inclusive Resource Center, Psychological Support Center, and modern training halls equipped according to NUS standards.
