Muranova N. P. Current research and educational discourse concerning the issue of training senior pupils for their studies at a higher educational institution

The source base of the problem of training upperclassmen for their further studies at a university is analyzed in the paper. Being cross-disciplinary in nature, the problem can be divided into several kinds. Both domestic and foreign experience have been considered.

The various groups of sources considered in the paper are: researches on the methodology and philosophy of education as well as on sociology, psychology, and history; general-theoretic works in the field of psychology and pedagogy; scholarly works resulted from investigations of education organization and content as well as of models and technologies of pre-university training of upperclassmen; regulations in the field of secondary and higher education; works on the content, selection, and peculiarities of physico-mathematical education at higher educational institutions.

The analysis of the learned sources has been helpful in revealing some insufficient attention that the specialists devote to urgent issues such as: comprehensive studies of pre-university training made  by specially created educational institutions; studying the pre-university training experience of  domestic universities; lack of academic papers on physico-mathematical training of upperclassmen in the interrelationship “secondary school – pre-university training – university”; lack of academic papers on technical university peculiarities regarding the continuity between the scientific-mathematical knowledge and skills of upperclassmen and those of first-year university students, which opens up prospects for further research.
