The article highlights the extremely important problem of pedagogical support of spiritual and moral competence elementary school teacher, his features in the system of postgraduate education. It traces the various aspects of the concept of «spirituality» and «morality», the basic views on the problem of spiritual and moral education, the relationship values and spiritual and moral education, the problem of training and education of the individual teacher, the issue of improving quality of educational process by improving teacher skills. It is noted that the problem of spiritual and moral competence is part of the general problem of professional and personal development of teachers. Different approaches to the structure of professional competence of teachers of general education institutions, ways to implement the relationship of emotional and behavioral aspects of the structure of professional competence of teachers. Characterized the formation and development of spiritual and moral competence in thinking, work, communicative competence as that places the teacher in modern society. An basic values of modern elementary school teacher, including values such as the humanization of social life and the humanization of education, search the meaning of life, improve the overall culture and self-worth of the individual, the value of civic education, hard work and responsibility, the value of the environmental outlook, ability to learn throughout life, language culture both personal and socially significant value, information culture, tolerance, health as a value. Deals with the application of a method of projects in the practice of spiritual teachers and potential values defined within technologies such as ethical (Good value), aesthetic (beauty value) and mental (truth value). There are the absolute (eternal) values, national, civil, family values and personal life. Characterized the formation of spiritual and moral competence of teachers in the system of continuous pedagogical education and the basic principles of formation and development of spiritual and moral competence of teachers, psychological and pedagogical conditions of realization of spiritual and moral competence. In further studies, may solve such problems as justification set of theoretical and methodological provisions for study of the phenomenon of spiritual and moral competence of teachers; disclosure of the nature, content, structure and criteria of spiritual and moral competence of teachers; development of scientific recommendations for the development of spiritual and moral competence of teachers.
