THE MONOGRAPH "DEVELOPMENT OF HUMANISTIC IDEAS IN CONTINUING EDUCATION: FROM GRIGORY SKOVORODA TO A MODERN EDUCATOR-INNOVATOR" BECAME THE WINNER OF "OUTSTANDING SCIENTIFIC ACHIEVEMENTS IN EDUCATION" EXHIBITION COMPETITION
According to the results of the Fifteenth International Exhibition "Innovation in Modern Education" that took place on October 25th-27th, 2023, in online mode, SIHE "University of Educational Management" of NAES of Ukraine received an honorary award. "Development of Humanistic Ideas in Continuing Education: from Grigory Skovoroda to a Modern Educator-Innovator" ed. by N. I. Bilyk, Hab. Dr. in Education; editorial board: M. O. Kyrychenko, Z. V. Ryabova and others, became the winner of "Outstanding Scientific Achievements in Education" exhibition competition in nomination "Monograph". The monograph was prepared according to the topic of the NDR No. 0120U104637 "Transformation of the Professional Development of Pedagogical and Research-Pedagogical Workers in the conditions of an Open University of Postgraduate Education" (2020-2025).
The monograph consists of two sections. The first contains individual materials of the participants of All-Ukrainian Scientific Online Conference with International Participation "Humanistic Ideas of Skovoroda as a Development Source of Scientific Potential of a Pedagogical Worker in the System of Continuous Education", and the second - II All-Ukrainian Scientific Online Conference with International Participation "Network of Innovative Schools of Ukraine: Developing Professional Competence of Managerial, Scientific-Pedagogical and Pedagogical Workers in the context of Implementing Continuous Education".
The first event was significant and dedicated to the 300th anniversary of GryGory Savych Skovoroda, the famous Ukrainian philosopher-mystic, theologian, poet, pedagogue. The Conference was held on the eve of Education Workers' Day. The scientists stated that the formation of Skovoroda’s "true man" ideal absorbed the system of his widely known humanistic ideas including humanistic ideas of conformity to nature (the need to identify and develop the innate abilities, talents, and inclinations of students); the philosophical concept of "related work" (realization of goal setting according to one's own abilities, inclinations, talents); social ideal of pro-active life (formatting an active personality); the ethical ideal of integrity; the democratic ideal of freedom, etc.
The second event testified to the productive educational work of regional and district schools for innovation of management, scientific-pedagogical and pedagogical workers of continuous education, who respond flexibly enough to the demands of society, preserving the accumulated positive experience, turning out of great importance during the martial law in Ukraine. According to the experts of the UNESCO Institute, it is the continuous education as one of the directions of adult education that contributes to comprehensive and harmonious development of an adult, growth of democracy, justice, scientific, educational, social and cultural development of society and the nation.
Nowadays, continuous education of adults is becoming a priority and direction for a number of social sciences: pedagogy, economics, sociology, political science, history, cultural studies. The transition to a multi-level and multi-variant education system makes it possible to meet the needs of both the youth and the adult population in accordance with the opportunities, desires and abilities of each.
In order to strengthen and develop democracy in society, it is necessary to expand opportunities for adult population to study and be active citizens. The future is based on continuous education, integrated pedagogical technologies, namely the spread of family school technology, the activation of regional and district schools for innovation of managerial, scientific-pedagogical and pedagogical workers of continuous education in Ukraine. The quality of our life in the post-war period as well as its solid and educational purpose for humanity depends on this.
