PARTICIPATION OF UEM REPRESENTATIVES IN THE XII INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC-PRACTICAL CONFERENCE "EUROPEAN INTEGRATION OF HIGHER EDUCATION OF UKRAINE IN THE CONTEXT OF BOLOGNA PROCESS: DIGITALIZATION AND QUALITY ASSURANCE OF HIGHER EDUCATION"
On December 14th, 2023, the XII International Scientific and Practical Conference "European Integration of Higher Education of Ukraine in the Context of Bologna Process: Digitalization and Quality Assurance of Higher Education" was held, organized with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the National Agency for Quality Assurance of Higher Education, the Institute of Higher Education of National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine and Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University.
The conference was attended by representatives of SIHE "University of Educational Management" of NAES of Ukraine: Nataliya Muranova, vice-rector for scientific and educational work and international relations, Svitlana Hrytsai, director of the Center for International Cooperation and Education, Larisa Borodinova, methodologist of the highest category of the Center for International Cooperation and Education, Beznos Olena, head of Department for monitoring the quality of education, licensing and accreditation, together with other scientific and pedagogical workers, employees of the University.
The participants of the conference - number exceeded 165 people from many institutions of higher education of Ukraine - were addressed by: Volodymyr Bugrov, rector of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University; Mykhailo Vynnytskyi, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, HERE; Svein Hulstein, Policy Manager, Higher Education Policy Department, Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture, European Commission (DG EAC); David Akrami Flores, Head of Erasmus+ Key Action 3: Policy Support, DAAD; Volodymyr Lugovyi, First Vice-President of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine; Andriy Butenko, Head of the National Agency for Quality Assurance of Higher Education, and Svitlana Shitikova, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine.
Three sections worked at the conference, raising discussions on issues of introducing a quality system into university education, strategic solutions to ensure sustainable development and successful competitiveness in the modern world of education were raised.
Thanks to the digitalization of the Bologna process, students of higher education and scientific and pedagogical workers have the opportunity to interact on a global scale. Online events, virtual projects and joint research create new opportunities for international cooperation.
The goal of the "Bologna Hub Peer Support II" Project is to facilitate the fulfillment of the key obligations of the Bologna Process and the application of Bologna tools in higher education institutions throughout the European Higher Education Area (EEA). The main tasks of the project are: three-cycle system and degrees of the first and second cycle, determined according to the ECTS scale; determination of qualifications in accordance with the Lisbon Convention on Recognition; ensuring the quality of education in accordance with the Standards and recommendations for EU quality assurance.
Kathryn Herres, senior specialist of Erasmus+ Key Action 3: Policy Support, National Agency for Higher Education, DAAD – German Academic Exchange Service, invited research and teaching staff and students of higher education to actively participate in DAAD scholarship competitions and offered support to those wishing to join the Erasmus + "Bologna Hub Peer Support II” Project.
The quality system in the Bologna Process is a dynamic and constantly evolving mechanism that responds to changes in the educational environment and labor market requirements.
