On May 4th-5th, 2023, on the invitation of the Bavarian Academic Center of Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe (BAYHOST), as well as Leibniz Institute for Eastern and Southeastern European Studies (IOS), Prof. Valentina Ivanova, Hab. Doctor in Economic Sciences, Professor of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Management at ESIMP of SIHE "University of Educational Management", took part in the Ukrainian-Bavarian Conference on Double Degrees Program in Regensburg (Germany).
The goal of the conference was to strengthen cooperation between Ukrainian and Bavarian universities during and after the war, to initiate new double degrees programs at Ukrainian and Bavarian universities.
A survey of Bavarian universities showed that more than 20 faculties of 13 different universities are interested in creating joint study programs with Ukrainian partners.
Double degrees programs offer Ukrainian HEI students the opportunity to study in Ukraine and carry out part of their studies at a German partner university. They will receive a Ukrainian and a German diploma and/or one joint diploma. Courses at a German university can be conducted online if physical mobility of the applicants is not possible. Double degrees programs are also designed to promote international cooperation of university lecturers and internationalization of curricula.
The conference was aimed at university lecturers and educational managers from Ukraine and Bavaria who are interested in the topic or are responsible for international educational programs.
In working groups related to different academic fields, proposals for cooperation to establish new contacts were considered.
