THE II POLISH-UKRAINIAN WEBINAR "FOREIGN CAMPUSES: EXPERIENCE AND PREREQUISITES OF FUNCTIONING IN POLAND AND UKRAINE"

On October 12th, 2023, Warsaw Polytechnic together with the Conference of Rectors of Polish Academic Schools, the Polish Rectors Foundation and the Union of Rectors of Ukraine invited Mykola Kyrychenko, Rector of SIHE University of Educational Management, and Natalia Muranova, Vice-Rector for Research, Pedagogy, Educational Work and International Relations, to participate in II Polish-Ukrainian Webinar on Foreign Campuses: Experience and Prerequisites for Functioning in Poland and Ukraine.

The subject of research by Polish and Ukrainian experts was legal and organizational conditions for opening foreign institutions of higher education or their branches in Poland and Ukraine.

The purpose of the webinar is to exchange current research results and experience in both countries. The experts also presented the experience of Polish and Ukrainian higher educational institutions in carrying out educational and other activities abroad. Ukrainian researchers presented general information on the forms and formats of academic representative offices, campuses and offices of Ukrainian universities outside Ukraine, created since the beginning of Russia's full-scale aggression against Ukraine.

The webinar was opened by: Prof. Jerzy Woznicki, project leader, Warsaw Polytechnic, President of Polish Rectors Foundation; Przemysław Skrodski, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Poland; Alla Rybalko, Head of the Expert Group on Higher Education and Adult Education of the Directorate of Vocational Pre-Higher and Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine; Prof. Petro Kulikov, Chairman of the Union of Rectors of Higher Educational Institutions of Ukraine, Rector of the Kyiv National University of Civil Engineering and Architecture; Prof. Jerzy Lys, Chairman of the International Cooperation Commission of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Academic Schools KRASP, Rector of the AGH University of Science and Technology.

Reports on "Current Regulatory Status and Practice Regarding Legal Conditions and Restrictions for Opening Foreign Higher Educational Institutions and their Branches in Poland, as well as the Right of Polish Higher Educational Institutions to Provide Educational Services outside Poland" and on "Legal Status, Opportunities and Limitations for Opening Branches of Foreign Universities in Ukraine and Forms of Activity and Representation of Ukrainian Higher Educational Institutions Abroad" were presented by young Ukrainian and Polish researchers.

The webinar was held as part of the MEiN-PW project "Polish-Ukrainian Cooperation of Representative Organizations of Rectors for Improving the Activities of Higher Educational Institutions", thanks to the financing of the Ministry of Education and Science of Poland.
