The article analyzes the contribution of domestic congresses education to the development of physical education of students in the late XIX – early XX century, Including their features and series of periods, paid attention to the difference between the courses and congresses, shown in the ' drive (educational, teachers, congresses on public education, rural congresses, medical, Pirogov congresses, conventions experimental pedagogy, etc.), held on lands under Russian and role Zemstvos in their organization, partly given resolution Pedagogical Congress 1916 in Kiev, emphasized that educational courses, congresses 60–70 years.
