UEM RESEARCH AND TRAINING STUFF ARE ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS OF THE OEAD COOPERATION OFFICE ODESSA BUREAU
On June 23rd, 2022, the project team from SIHE "University of Educational Management" of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, led by Natalia Muranova, Vice-rector for Research and Educational Work and International Relations, took part in another seminar of Digitalization of Teaching Project, which was organized by the OeAD Cooperation Office Odessa Bureau.
The speaker of the seminar, Maria Haas (Technical University, Graz, Austria) presented the "Flipped Class" learning technology.
This technology is a type of blended learning, its main feature being homework for students to work in an online environment: watching educational video materials or information resources to study new educational material or consolidate what has already been learned. Instead, in the classroom, students perform practical tasks on the topic they learned at home under the guidance and with the help of the teacher.
During the seminar, research and training stuff of the University had the opportunity to practically work out the didactic principles of the implementation of the "Flipped Class" learning technology in mini-groups and to get more thoroughly acquainted with the features of its application, advantages and risks, the place and significance of educational video in this technology, the role of the teacher and the features of managing the educational process. The hottest discussion during the seminar was caused by The Virtual Flipped Classroom Model, which is widely used by teachers when implementing distance learning. It involves the teacher offering students material to review, issuing practical tasks and online consultations, conducting tests and publishing final scores.
We sincerely thank the organizers for a creative approach to the presentation of the workshop materials and look forward to the next meeting devoted to digital competence and self-assessment.
